The cover of Across A Deadly Field

John Hill, the author of Osprey’s soon to be published set of grand-tactical American Civil War rules “Across A Deadly Field”, will be the Guest of Honor at Nashcon 2014. John will be at Nashcon introducing his new rules to the public, and hosting games in collaboration with some the playtesters. Here is what is currently planned:

Shiloh’s East Flank — A beautiful 28mm game using John Hill’s new regimental grand tactical ACW system, “Across A Deadly Field” — to be published by Osprey this summer — will focus on the desperate struggle for Shiloh’s east flank which the Confederate General James Chalmers referred to as, “…a very stubborn fight”. This scenario will be published in one of the forthcoming “ADF” scenario books.  The game will be presented by Cory Ring and John Hill on Friday afternoon.

Hunter Takes Command – Piedmont – A stunning 15mm game by Dean West and Patrick Lebeau also using Osprey’s upcoming “Across A Deadly Field” system will cover the little known, but very significant Battle of Piedmont in the Shenandoah Valley in 1864 which will be featured in the first Osprey scenario book for ADF.

Gettysburg – A Long Afternoon — A large ADF 15mm game covering the critical afternoon of the First Day of Gettysburg with all the troops that were there…along with some that could or should have been there.  This large game will feature a gorgeous game board featuring all the terrain north of Gettysburg. The game will be presented and moderated Saturday morning by Patrick Lebeau, Dean West and John Hill.
